Why We Fight
If you're doing everything right, but finding it harder and harder to get by... you're not alone.
We know a simple truth about American life: the economy is not delivering enough, for enough people.
And the long-term outlook isn't pretty.
Because if the next forty years are like the last forty years, the American middle class will disappear.
The people we help don't check tidy boxes.
They don't even fit into boxes.
We're looking to help American originals.
Ready to fight the toughest battles in politics.
And we're here to help you with sharp messaging and the next great iconic ad.
So, if you're looking for something different, you might have just found it.
Rebecca Katz
Rebecca Katz, has been a key advisor behind some of Democrats’ most high-profile and unlikely victories. In both 2022 and 2024, she was behind the highest over-performances of any winning Democrat in a Senate battleground. This includes John Fetterman’s dramatic win while overcoming a stroke and $100 million of attack ads, and Ruben Gallego’s election as Arizona’s first Latino Senator.
Rebecca ran Democratic Leader Harry Reid’s War Room in the U.S. Senate, assisted with the planning and execution of the White House’s communications strategy for then-Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, and helped Planned Parenthood fight back against the unprecedented assault on women’s health after Republicans assumed control of Congress. In 2013, she played a senior role in guiding the communications strategy to help New Yorkers get to know *and like* Bill de Blasio.
As the chief strategist on John Fetterman’s 2022 campaign, Rebecca navigated multiple crises and led the strategy, the team, and the groundbreaking creative communications operation that resulted in a stunning 5-point victory — Democrats’ only flip of a Senate seat that year.
A Philadelphia native, Rebecca has been a driving force behind some of the most unconventional, creative, and successful campaigns in recent memory, many of which were not taken seriously by the establishment. Rebecca has spent the last decade fighting to elect more and better Democrats.
Tommy McDonald
Tommy McDonald has been a media consultant for 13 years. He has been honored to help tell stories in over 30 states and for over 100 successful campaigns – mostly for nontraditional candidates like school board members, nurses, farmers, teachers, mechanics, plumbers, public defenders, activists, soldiers and small town mayors.
Tommy’s work has been called “a model for taking on Republicans” by the New York Times, and showing “every Democrat what modern messaging looks like” by Crooked Media. In addition to serving as the lead paid media consultant on John Fetterman’s 2022 Senate campaign, Tommy has helped elect 21 U.S. Representatives. He has also helped lead multi-cycle systematic victories like the majority on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and in the Pennsylvania State House (going from 78 to 102 members). He has made ads for some of the largest institutions in the country, including NRDC, HMP, LCV and WFP.
Tommy has won over 40 industry awards, including for Campaign of the Year, Ad of the Year, Humor, Innovation in Media Buying and over a dozen awards in digital media. Tommy is also proud of his work for Independents and candidates outside of the traditional process, including working for successful Independent candidates since 2015. NPR has said his work “shows Democrats what is possible.”
Julian Mulvey
Julian is a democratic media consultant. His work has earned praise from figures like Secretary Hillary Clinton, who called it “poetry,” and scorn from President Donald Trump, who labeled it “fake and fraudulent.” The New York Times dubbed him one of the “architects” of Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, which Jacobin Magazine credited with re-energizing the American left. The BBC’s Kim Ghattas called him "Bernie's ad genius.”
Julian has produced the media for over 100 winning campaigns across the country and at every level. In 2024, he produced six films that played at the Chicago Democratic convention in prime time.
His ads for Joe Biden and the DNC in 2020 provoked Trump to call him a “lowlife.” Julian won his first Gold Pollie for Best Congressional Ad in 2004 and his most recent in 2020 for Rep. Lucy McBath. In 2021, he helped propel Andre Dickens from a distant 6th place to win the largest runoff victory for Mayor in Atlanta city history.
Julian’s TV ads for Bernie’s presidential campaign were lauded as some of the best in political history. The Daily Beast called the ad campaign “pure gold,” and CNN’s John King praised their emotional resonance. One ad, “America,” set to Simon & Garfunkel’s iconic song, was named Ad of the Year by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and many others.
His play “Rush’s Dream,” about the friendship and feud of Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, performed to sold-out shows off-Broadway. Historian Garry Wills called it “a beautiful story, beautifully told.”
Morris Katz
Morris Katz is an ad maker and political strategist. He hates status quo politics and loves long-shots. And he has never backed away from a fight.
As comfortable in Philadelphia union halls as he is in auto shops in Nebraska, Morris is always on the lookout for nontraditional candidates that are willing to take on tough fights.
He was the lead media strategist on Zohran Mamdani’s campaign for Mayor of New York City, helping orchestrate the strategy and making the ads that turned a state assemblyman into a national progressive leader.
In 2024, he was a key advisor behind Dan Osborn’s groundbreaking independent campaign for US Senate in Nebraska, which outperformed the top-of-the-ticket by 14 points. Among the many notches on his belt, Morris is proud to have helped legalize weed in Dallas, defeat a Kansas City Chiefs-backed tax hike, and fortify and expand the Working Families Party bloc in the New York legislature.
*Though they share a last name and passion for fighting and winning tough battles, Morris and Rebecca Katz are not related.
Eric Stern
Eric Stern is a veteran strategist and ad maker who has spent over a decade beating Republicans in places Democrats aren’t supposed to win.
Eric helped launch Ruben Gallego’s U.S. Senate campaign in Arizona and managed the campaign's budget through the election. Before that, he was the first hire and deputy campaign manager on John Fetterman’s Senate race in Pennsylvania, a campaign that redefined how Democrats talk to working people. Eric also managed Josh Stein’s successful statewide campaign for North Carolina Attorney General, and has made ads for candidates from state legislature to U.S. Senate.
Eric is a sixth-generation Western Pennsylvanian whose work is grounded in a deep understanding of political strategy and media -- and the knowledge that Democrats win when they talk like real people, fight like hell, and never mistake Wall Street applause for working class support.
